| In the field of NCE research, Hanmi has targeted its research on anticancer drugs. |
 |
| Hanmi succeeded in the development of a novel P-glycoprotein inhibitor, HM30181A. Using this molecule, Hanmi discovered ORASCOVERY, the platform technology that enables the new development of orally available drugs. Recently, Oraxol¢â, the orally administered form of Paclitaxel, and Oratecan¢â, the orally administered form of Irinotecan, are in clinical trials. |

P-glycoprotein (PGP)
P-glycoprotein (abbreviated as P-gp or Pgp) is a well characterized human ABC-transporter of the MDR/TAP subfamily. It is extensively distributed and expressed in normal cells such as those lining the intestine, liver cells, renal proximal tubular cells, and capillary endothelial cells comprising the blood-brain barrier. P-gp is also called ABCB1, ATP-binding cassette sub-family B member 1, MDR1, and PGY1. |

Hanmi is also developing ¡®targeted anticancer drugs¡¯ which block the action of tumor growth factors using advanced drug discovery technologies such as molecular modeling and combinatorial chemistry.
One of the candidates having potent activities against EGFR mutant cells, HM781-36B, is ongoing
phase¥°clinical trials in Korea.
