Domestic company won the case in the patent dispute of androgenetic alopecia remedy, Finasteride 1mg

On November 30th Judge Lee doo hyung, Suwon District Court 6th division, gave a decision on this case that MSD Korea failed in Patent infringement prohibition lawsuit against Hanmi submitted on June 28th 2006

Original product of Androgenetic alopecia remedy, Finasteride is MSD`s Propecia. In March 2005 Hanmi instituted a lawsuit against MSD for Patent invalidity then the case was judged to be invalidity August this year.

Based on the Intellectual Property Tribunal`s prior judge, Suwon District Court announced Hanmi`s winning regarding production and Sale prohibition, which was domestic company`s winning.

Hanmi`s official said Suwon District Court`s judge was that they cannot admit patent if the company simply restrict the dosage of Finasteride.

Besides Hanmi put `Finated` that has a Finasteride component on the market as a first generic in December 2006 and progresses joint marketing with androgenetic alopecia remedy , `Moxidil 5%` that has a Minoxidil component.

 androgenetic alopecia remedy, Finasteride 1mg`s annual market size is 260 million won. As `Finated``s market share increases up to about 20% in the launching year, the market share of Propecia which is an original product fell to about 80%.

Young doctor`s association of No won ku and Yoo Deok Ki(the director) got the 6th Hanmi`s true doctor prize.

Hanmi pharmaceutical company and doctor`s association of Seoul had ceremony at Lotte hotel sapphire room at 7pm on 30th to give a prize, 10 million won, and a medal to Young doctor`s association of No won ku and Yoo Deok Ki(the director) who were chosen as the prize winners of this year.

Young doctor`s association of No won ku which was established to help extremely poor people in the region in 2000 has contributed to establish medical sercive culture of sharing through volunteer work visiting welfare organization and supporting poor youths.

Hanmi said Arino helps an injury to be cured rapidly minimizing a scar and repressing a scab formation that causes a scar by making a humid environment on an injured part.

Hanmi added that Arino reduces nerve stimulation occurring because of dryness on an injured part by maintaining exudates and reducing a pain through a rapid removal of an inflammation without applying an ointment or an antiseptic on an injured part.

Besides Hanmi emphasized that patients can decide easily when to change it since patients can observe an injured part or exudates without removing dressing because of its transparent type and Arino can protect an injured part from a virus and a dirt with a good permeability.

Hanmi pharmaceutical company launched a comprehensive cold remedy for a daytime and a night ``Suspen Day Night``.

``Suspen Day Night`` which put together ``Suspen Day`` and ``Suspen night`` that were being sold separately is composed of 8 capsules for a daytime and 4 capsules for a night.

 It is divided into a white capsule that lessens drowsiness in a daytime and a blue capsule that lessens the symptoms of cold such as a pain through a sound sleep.

Suspen Day Night contains an acetaminophen 500mg in an each capsules and it can lessen the symptoms of cold and lower body temperature relieving a pain when it is taken three times (two capsules) a day, 1000mg for a dosage.

Sankei highlighted an economy cut of medical expenses on a special edition on last 16th.

Sankei, the Japanese representative business newspaper, published a special edition about an obesity remedy `Slimmer capsule` which Hanmi launched recently.

Focusing on will of developing obesity remedy (super generics) in Korea, Sankei reported that Hanmi got ahead of other pharmaceutical companies in this field on a special edition about `metabolic syndrome` on last 16th.

In Japan, in the mean time, obesity remedy that has sibutramine component is not launched yet and Eisai is in the progress of the clinical test for the permission of Reductyl which is an original product at the moment.

Forbes put a high valuation on Hanmi for Paperless, Environment friendly, and Well-being management.

Hanmi goes in to global market with Facility investment as good as cGMP

 The plant can take charge of domestic and global entrusted production.

 Hanmi pharmaceutical company said they got KGMP approval from KFDA for building the Pyeong teak plant (Cepha plant) for the exclusive use of Cephalosporin Antibiotic on last 24th.

The Cepha plant had been constructed from March 2006 to last January with an investment 370 hundred million won and equips pipe lines for injections tablet and Kapsel powder.

The pipe line can supply up to 70% of Cephalosporin Antibiotic that is being consumed domestically at the moment since it can establish more than two times of pipe lines for each kinds of product when it`s necessary.

Cepha plant has an automatic system as good as cGMP which can perform air conditioning, water disposal, and electric power and it can monitor room temperature, humidity, pressure, particle, and wind velocity using Building Management System.

Moreover, it has former air method`s facility (it can issue polluted air to the outside without circulation) that is required in developed countries and it can save energy adapting energy withdrawing system.

 Chang An soo, Hanmi`s CEO, said ``Cephalosporin Antibiotic assumes massive proportions in Hanmi pharmaceutical company. In the mean time, Cephalosporin separation policy that makes the plant for for the exclusive use of Cephalosporin Antibiotic ready by 2010 to produce Cephalosporin Antibiotic domestically has become institutionalized. However when all the domestic pharmaceutical companies that is producing and selling Cephalosporin Antibiotic at the moment try to equip the separated production facility, national waste of surplus and overlapped invest on facilities is expected.

Hanmi pharmaceutical company reported that they published a clinical book of an obesity remedy Slimmer recently.

Slimmer is the world`s first obesity remedy that has methyl acid salt on sibutramine and Hanmi got sales permission from KFDA on July 2nd.

Hanmi said ``Slimmer is the only product that went through pre-clinical test, the first, second, and third clinical test like a new medicine among obesity remedies (super generics) in Korea. We published clinical book to show that the efficacy and safety of Slimmer are differentiated from other products apparently.

Hanmi has invested 42 hundred million won for R&D for 5 years and the clinical book contains clinical results of pre-clinical tests for single medication of toxic, repeated medication of toxic, genetic toxic, toxic of reproduction, cancer, efficacy, general medicine, absorption, distribution, metabolism, excretion and of the first, second, third clinical tests that have been collected for 5 years.

Hanmi said ``The clinical book contains the result of the third clinical test of Slimmer that was done by Choi Woong Hwan(Hanyang university), Kim Kyeong Soo(Catholic university), Park Hye Sonn(Seoul Asan Hospital), Lee Kwan Woo(Aju university), Kim Beom Teak(Aju university), An Cheol Woo(Yeong Dong Severance Hospital). The third clinical test of Slimmer which had been done to 200 obesity patients in 5 hospitals from July 2004 showed that patient had lost weight more than 6%, 5cm waist girth, 3.8% of heap girth, 1.9kg/m2 BMI and especially lipid & LDL cholesterol whereas HDL cholesterol which is healthful had increased

Besides, new employees visited Kkot dong nea and did a volunteer work for helpless old people and disables for 2 days.

*Women`s volunteer club `Cheong lok hoi` in Hanmi

Since it was established in 1980, `Cheong lok hoi` in Hanmi` has been helping helpless people by opening one-day café and bazaar every year.

It has been doing charity activities like donating revenue that was collected by every woman employees for one day to an old people's home and to an orphanage.

And members of `Cheong lok hoi` visit Seonglowon home for babies and do volunteer work there once in a month. Sometime `Cheong lok hoi` gives Seonglowon the necessaries of life such as diapers, fans, detergents using money that was earned from one-day café and bazaar.
