Established in 1984 with the purpose of manufacturing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients, Hanmi Fine Chemical was successful in the development of third generation cephalosporin through ceaseless research activities and enormous facility investment.
Many of the products are independently developed by the research staff and their quality has been globally recognized. With its expertise on synthesis of bulk products from laboratory to plant level, the company is pushing ahead with a plan to develop diverse technologies while concentrating its efforts on the first generic strategy and forming strategic alliances with other global companies.

Beijing Hanmi Pharmaceutical is a joint-venture company established in March 1996 by Beijing Third Pharmaceutical Company and Hanmi with a joint investment.
The GMP plant, which was completed in the first half of 2001 with total construction expense reaching 7 million US dollars, has a ground area of 8,000 square meters. After gaining the GMP approval from the Chinese authorities in July 2002, the plant has produced a variety of products.
As of 2007, Beijing Hanmi has a total of 510 employees including medical doctors and pharmacists. The company obtained the drug import license for six items and plans to increase the number. Reaching a near 50 percent increase in annual sales through countries new product launches and its widely structured sales network covering the mainland, Beijing Hanmi steps closer to the goal of becoming a leader in China.
